Received his Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University in 1960 and his CA designation in 1962. Ranked first in Québec and third in Canada. He started his own practice in 1971 and merged with Levy Pilotte in 1981. Principally an audit partner serving small business clients, Stephen Coplan also handles the firm's public companies. He was elected school commissioner for ten years and has been Chairman of Finance and Legislation Committee and Vice Chairman of the Protestant School Board of Greater Montreal. He has served on two committees of the Ordre des Comptables Agréés du Québec, the Fee Mediation Committee for three years and the Discipline Committee for the last six.
